Easter…

Pastor Steve telling the truth...

This morning, we had a stellar Easter service at Gibson Southern High School. We saw approx 20-30 (indicate by raised hand)  accept Christ this morning and no telling how many others were changed/challenged and blessed. We had significant rainfall and even the local radio station (mistakenly) reported that the main road that leads to the school was closed due to flooding….Still….. Over 700 people came to worship.

I’m more convinced than ever that people in our community are hungry for God’s truth….and no one is really reaching them.  Jesus said “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men”…too many think He said ..”I’ll make you keepers of the aquarium”. :-) I’m very stoked that the GBC is reaching out to people in fresh ways. If this morning is an indication, we’re on the right track. I’m stoked when I see people volunteer with service to others who may have never set foot in a church before. I’m thankful that we didn’t go through the motions of religious ritual..but instead, we cried out to God as a body.. confessing our brokenness and need.

How was your church service this morning? Did you invite others? Did you witness lives changed? I’d love to hear about it! Hit me with a comment below..if you are reading the facebook feed of this blog, just leave a comment there.

He is risen.

At the Christian Church of Jasper in (a few miles from you in Jasper, Ind. – Dubois County), we had 1,544 during three services. I’ve been a music worship leader there for almost a decade and, honestly, did not think I’d ever see such a thing in Dubois Co. Jesus will build His church and He’s doing it in places that are dry and doing it through jacked-up people like me and our people.

Yeah, parts of the county got hammered. I guess we all better get our boats ready now, though. :-/
