Inspiring words from a stranger…

I’ve just been challenged by a comment someone left on a YouTube video…

Whatever it takes, God. Do whatever it takes. I’m honestly scared of what that will mean and when I do find out, I probably won’t like it. But God, do whatever it takes to light my soul on fire for You.

Someone’s public prayer is hitting me hard this very second…

Is this my prayer? Is this yours?

It should be…but often, it isn’t.

Love Wins!

    Inspiring words, indeed!

Have u read Forgotten God, by Francis Chan (with Danae Yankoski)?
Some time ago you posted a question on FB about what living in the Spirit was. Didn’t comment anything that time, but those days I was reading this book Im telling you now. It’s amazing! It deals with our tragic neglet of the Holy Spirit. The inspiring words you are quoting from a stranger sounded to me like some lines of Chan’s book (Chapter I, What Are You Afraid Of?):

“The flip side of fearing that God won’t show up is fearing that He will. What if God does show up but then asks you to go somewhere or do something that’s uncomfortable? For many people, fearing that God will ask them to go in a difficult, undesirable direction outweights the fear that God will ignore them. (…) When it comes down to it, many of us do not really want to be led by the Holy Spirit (…) But if you decide you do want to know His will, there will be moments when you have to release your grip of control on your life and decide to be led, come what may.”

I found these statements so powerful. I identified myself with them and was amazed while reading this cos it was as though Chan was reading my mind when writing the book. This is so me! I’m a chicken when it comes to looking for God’s will, but this book has confronted me.
I highly recommend it, if You haven’t read it yet.

    Blessings! :)
